10 Things
By
Meg
10 Things they don't tell you about being a parent...
1. There will be countless times where you cannot remember the last time you brushed your teeth.
2. Pacifiers work for both parents and baby- once the baby has it you will both be pacified
3. Letting your baby fall asleep on you spoils you just as much as your baby.
4. Spit-up is your new perfume
5. Laundry loads multiply like the fish and two loaves
6. You will spend many stoplights rocking the car seat so baby thinks you are still moving- babies don't like the car to be still
7. You will look forward to nap time- yours
8. The majority of your daily conversation will be geared towards an infant who has no idea what you are saying and you will wonder if anyone can hear you carrying on a baby-talk conversation about nothing in particular
9. You will define "sleeping in" as more than three hours straight of sleep- and you will be thrilled with this
10. You will be completely enamored with your baby and not care about any of the above

A Week of Firsts
By
Meg
This week we hit our stride and accomplished a lot of firsts! It has been the first week that no one came to help out with laundry or dishes. I have done it all by myself! It might get hectic, but I love figuring out how to juggle Harrison, laundry, dishes, and dinner. It has been great!
Harrison and I made our first solo trip to the grocery store! I felt so accomplished. He did great. He rode in his sling and pretty much slept the whole time. We also took our first road trip. It was only an hour long, but he did amazing. He was able to meet his great- grandparents, his great Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Daniel. The car ride made him a little fussy, but the family did not seem to mind.
We can hardly believe Harrison has been a part of our family for three weeks now! It has flown by, but has been such a sweet time. We love spending our time with him and getting to know him better!

Easter Sunday
By
Meg
Yesterday was Harrison's first Easter! We had such a great day. We all got dressed up and made our first venture to church since Harrison was born. He did so good! He slept the whole time and looked so adorable! His Great Aunt Cindy bought him his preppy Easter Sunday outfit. I must say I was escorted to church by the two most handsome men I know! After church both sets of grandparnts, all the aunts, and Harrison's one uncle all came to visit! We had a non-traditional Easter cookout! No ham and rolls here; we chowed down on burgers and hotdogs! It was a lot of fun and we had a great time visiting! My Dad even made homemade icecream! I can't wait for next summer when Harrison gets to dive into a bowl of papa's icecream!
Am I not the most handsome baby ever?

2 Week Check-Up
By
Meg
Harrison had his two week check-up! He has already grown so much! He did not like his check-up very much though. We have a very opinionated little guy! He was ok with some of the measurements, but when the doctor came in to look in his eyes and ears and check his joints, etc., he screamed! We had another milestone while at his two week check- Harrison's cord fell off while getting him undressed to get his weight! We can hardly believe our guy is two weeks old already! He's growing fast!
I'm 19 7/8" long! I was 18" at birth.

Footprints
By
Meg
Yesterday was our two week follow-up appointment with our midwife. Part of the birthing center's tradition is to put the footprints of every baby born there on the wall. Matt and I chose a space by the door to the room where Harrison was born and the midwife painted his little feet blue. Believe it or not, Harrison slept the entire thing through! It was so neat to have looked at those little foot prints on the wall our entire pregnancy, and now we were placing our son's on the wall too!

Just like a movie star; well, he's our star!
The finished masterpiece!

The First Week
By
Meg
It is hard to believe our little man is a week old now! He has already changed so much, but everyday has been a complete joy! He is doing so good with his schedule! He lets us sleep during the night by spacing his feedings our 4 hours and is starting to really keep eye contact with us when we are talking to him! He is so much fun and we absolutely love Harrison!

Harrison's Birthday
By
Meg
We are finally here. The past three days have flown by; filled with feedings, diapers, and plenty of cuddling! We are so in awe with our little man and completely in love. We spend countless time just looking at our son feeling so blessed and amazed with God's secret knitting him together over the past few months. We look forward to showing and sharing Jesus' love with our little boy and pray that he grows in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.
